![]() ![]() In practice even large colonies tend to only have 1 or at most 2 pawns doing construction so not sure about what this does other than making a construction skill pawn at 4 and some passion or 6 with none almost a must pick in the initial group which adds another restriction to single colonist starts that I don't think needs to be there. The only other big balance change I'm not too sure about is the min construction skill proliferation. The hauling weight of it makes caravaning for it pretty impractical and growing trees is completely now. Currently in Desert and i've been barely crawling by with any wood for 2 years. The tree planting situation feels extremely overnerfed. Still relatively early in tech tree but took paths I wouldn't have previously due to some of the splitting up of techs. I ran the solo colonist w/ no items so I wasn't able to get too liberal with priorities but it's clear even with early tech there are more options available for non-traditional strategies that don't feel like self-nerfing now such a beer over smokeleaf. For features and feature changes 1.0 seems across the board positive.įor balance the new tech tree and research costs are intriguing. I was using a mod for this before which I thought was ok but the 1.0 version is super promising already. The colonist history info logging is seriously awesome. I can see 2nd bases for pod launcher outposts becoming pretty common place now. On prior versions would only really consider healer mech serums, AI core, and infinite chem reactors there's a lot more reason to get out of the base. Caravans are much more interesting with trade alone and I have a couple quests on the screen for high quality items near my colony that I'll get to. I'm only about 5-6 hours on 1.0 but the new world features and faction system are outstanding IMO.
